He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering (Mark 5:34).”

These were the words Jesus spoke to the woman who suffered from the issue of blood. She was healed by touching the hem of his cloak. Her faith healed her. Jesus spoke similarly to the Canaanite woman whose daughter was demon-possessed, the blind man in Jericho, and the Samaritan who was a leper. He must have said the same thing to many other people who had received healing or some work of salvation through him, even though their stories are not recorded in the gospels. Jesus’ words, “your faith has healed you,” indicate that whether we receive God’s blessings or any work of salvation from him, such as healing, deliverance from problems and needs, depends upon us. It is up to us who receive from God and does not depend on God. Unfortunately, many Christians do not know this truth.

We live by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:7).

According to the Bible, a person has two ways of walking– “by sight” and “by faith.” People who are moved by what they see and judge everything based on the thoughts and words of others have no faith or weak faith even if they know the words of the Bible. It is unlikely for such people to receive God’s blessings. No matter how much they say, “God is a good God,” in their hearts, they think that God is weaker than the circumstances, and his Word is merely a fantasy or an unrealistic ideal. Therefore, they live trusting human words and thoughts. It is them who choose such a way of walking, and it all depends on their faith.

Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God (John 11:40)?
God had victory over the circumstance of death and said to us, “Live!” Jesus walked on water and calmed the storm. Is it possible for Christians to live by being swept away by the circumstances they see and the words of those who are still bound to death, without trusting in the words of life that the Creator of universe and the King of Kings spoke? Note how Jesus said, “If you believe … “:

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him (Mark 11:22-23).
