Pharaoh changed his mind after he let the Israelites go and pursued them with chariots and troops. When the Israelites saw his army approaching, they panicked. They complained to Moses that he had led them there to die. The situation was utterly hopeless, and they were at a dead end! God said to Moses:

Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on (Exod 14:15).

Move on?! Into the sea? Yes! Where else? God said:

I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. (v. 17).

This is an example of how God shows his glory in our impossible situations. He uses our problems and needs to show his glory. Thus, we must have faith in God and go forward. Faith is not for what you can do as a human but for what God can do, not you. As Moses raised his miracle staff over the sea, God divided the water, and the Israelites moved on to the other side, walking on dry ground. When Moses stretched out his hand again, the water flew back over the Egyptian army, and they were all drowned. Then, the Israelites sang, praising God:

I will sing to the LORD,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.
The LORD is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation (15:1–2).”

In the same way, God showed his glory when he saved us from the dead-end world of sin. We sinned, and our enemy pursued us. But God sent Jesus Christ to raise his miracle staff over the world so we could move on. Jesus prayed the night before he was crucified:

Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you (John 17:1).

Having come alive out of the sea of the dead end with Jesus Christ, you are now on the other side. Where would you go, what would you do, and for what would you live now?

You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body (1 Cor 6:19-20).
